最近讀到一個單字 comprise (vt) 1.包含，包括 2.由……組成、構成

以前一直都沒有把用法搞懂，於是就google它的用法，

發現好像與在TOEIC考題上讀到的 be comprised of 有些意外的發現，

許多英語評論人士強烈的反對 be comprised of 的使用，

例如：The United States comprises fifty states.  認為這才是 comprise 正確的用法，

只是現在很多新版的字典是直接將 be comprised of 列為片語使用，

為了避免爭議還是儘量挑選其他替代字來使用較佳，

同義用字的用法整理：

● 主動語態：A 由 B 組成。

A(大) comprise B(小)

A(大) consist of B(小)

A(大) contain B(小)

A(大) include B(小)

B(小) compose B(大)

B(小) constitute B(大)

● 被動語態：A 由 B 組成。

A(大) be made up of B(小)

A(大) be composed of B(小)

『 consist of 』和『 comprise 』沒有被動式。
